How we can work together

Laying The Foundation

After accepting a project, I schedule an informational meeting. I am interested not only in your budget and project specifications, but also in your preferences and objectives. And, of course, I will want to know all the features and benefits of your products or services. This is crucially important in strategically targeting your market.

Developing The Right Ideas

Despite popular misconceptions, good creative work does not often come in a flash of inspiration, or a click of the keyboard. It comes from experience and a lot of trial and error. This is why we need to take the time to consider several approaches, work them through, and try them out.

I normally ask for up to one week, depending on the project's complexity, before I submit my rough concepts for your review. Of course, if you have a rush project, I can adjust accordingly.

My rough concepts consist of a storyboard giving a visual example of what the Web site will look like, its navigation menu, and content to be included on the site. Your comments on the storyboard provide the basis for revising the rough concepts and bringing them to completion.

Ensuring Your Satisfaction

I will keep you informed on the progress of your project. Any diversion that will affect the schedule or budget is identified in writing. My goal is to keep your project moving ahead quickly, smoothly, and cost-effectively.

The Cost

My invoices are based on the time I invest in a project. I will provide a detailed proposal for your approval before starting any project, and I adhere to that proposal unless project specifications change. I generally charge a flat fee.

Payments are made in three installments:

Web Hosting

What is Web Hosting?

For a Web site to be seen on the Internet it needs to be uploaded to a Web server. A Web Host provides you with space on a server to store your Web pages so they can be viewed in a Web browser.

Your Web host maintains the server and has the expertise to troubleshoot any server problems, applying patches and security updates when necessary.

Domain Registration

How do I Register?

Every computer on the Internet has a unique address, your domain name is the cornerstone of your presence on the Internet.

Your domain name can be purchased through any registrars that have been accredited by the ICANN. The ICANN oversees the distribution of these unique identifiers.

The most popular registrars are Network Solutions and Register.com.

Search Engines

"81% of Internet users rely on search engines to find the information they need."

Consumers use search engines to locate your Web site by entering a search for a word or phrase related to your site.

Submitting your Web site to a search engine does not necessarily mean you will be instantly found. Your site may be listed but on the lower level, not on the first few pages.

There is no magic formula that will guarantee top level results, however, optimizing your Web pages can improve your ranking.
